Gemma was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. Her childhood and early teen years were rife with family addictions and abuse. To escape her tumultuous home life she escaped into the world of reading and soon began writing her own shot stories.

Gemma published a few poems in her late teens but writing took a backseat to life and motherhood. Once in a while, she'd work here and there on her stories but in 2008 she became a single mother and writing was pushed even further back. In 2014, her second son was born. In 2020 she signed a three book, each stand alones, with Scarsdale Publishing and The Hollywood Wife debuted in 2021.
